Built during the Hellenistic period and expanded under Roman rule, the theatre could accommodate up to 15,000 spectators. A transcription found in the theatre reads "Place of the Jews who are also called God Fearing".

Handle artwork by the mount or frame and avoid pressing on the surface, especially for original paintings to prevent stains or damage.
